Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Scramble collects, why, and how you can control it. Scramble is a sports-prediction game operated by Scramble Sports, Inc.: you call plays before the snap and see how you did against the real game.

Information we collect

Account information

Creating an account requires an email address and password, or signing in with Apple or Google. When you use Sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a verified identifier and whatever contact information you choose to share through that provider (Apple and Google both let you hide your real email behind a relay address). We don't receive your password from Apple or Google. Authentication is handled by a managed identity service run by our cloud hosting provider.

Profile information

You choose a handle and display name when you set up your account. Profile pictures are drawn from your initials rather than uploaded, so there's no image of you for us to collect. Your handle and display name are visible to other players in your leagues and, where the product shows public rankings, to other users of the app.

Gameplay data

Everything you do in the game (the plays you call, the points you earn, the leagues and rooms you join or create, and your standing within them) is stored on our game servers so we can score your predictions and show you your history and stats.

Push notification tokens

If you turn on notifications, we register a device push token (issued by Apple, Google, or the push service our app framework provides, depending on your platform) against your account so we can send you game-start alerts, results, and related updates. You can turn notifications off at any time in your device settings or in the app; turning off notifications un-registers your token.

Crash and error reports

We use a crash-reporting service to catch crashes and errors so we can fix them. Crash reports can include device information, app version, and the sequence of steps that led to the error. We scrub authentication tokens, passwords, cookies, and handles out of this data before it's sent, and that scrubbing happens in the app itself rather than after the fact.

Product analytics

We use a product analytics service to understand how the app is used: which screens people reach, where they get stuck, and whether things like invites turn into joins. Events are tied to a pseudonymous identifier (the internal account id created when you sign in) rather than to your handle, display name, or email, and event properties never include the calls you make or any other text you type.

We record only a specific, listed set of events rather than capturing everything you do automatically. We don't use analytics for advertising, we don't build advertising profiles, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Third parties we use

We rely on a small number of outside services to run Scramble. They may only use what we send them to perform the work we've asked for.

We name our moderation provider specifically because sending the names you choose to an outside AI service is a thing worth knowing about. The rest are ordinary infrastructure providers, and we'll update this policy if what we send them changes.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

How we use your information

We use the information above to:

Data retention

We keep your account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, so your history and stats stay intact. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to retain limited records to comply with the law, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. Crash reports and analytics events are retained on a rolling basis and are purged on our providers' standard retention schedules.

Where your data is processed

Scramble's servers run in the United States, and the providers listed above process data in the United States and other countries. If you use Scramble from outside the United States, your information is transferred to and stored in the US, where the privacy laws are different from the ones where you live. Where a transfer out of the UK or the European Economic Area needs a legal basis, we rely on the data-processing terms our providers offer for that purpose, which incorporate the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Deleting your data

To request deletion of your account and personal data, email us at support@scramblefantasy.gg from the email address associated with your account. We'll confirm your identity and process the deletion request within a reasonable time. We are working on an in-app account-deletion option so you won't need to email us for this in the future.

Children's privacy

Scramble is not directed at children, and you must be at least 13 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us at support@scramblefantasy.gg and we'll remove it.

Your rights (CCPA, GDPR, and similar laws)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email support@scramblefantasy.gg. We'll respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where required, notify you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. Your continued use of Scramble after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
